Soie Gobelins is a 2-ply filament silk created originally for Gobelins tapestry repair. This glorious silk is a 2-ply filament twist which closely resembles hand-spun silk threads from the 17th century.
Recommended for cross stitch on linen, canvaswork, embroidery, applique and needlelace. Packaged on a 50 meter spool.
In the past several years, we have greatly expanded the range of colors whose shades were originally drawn from the Soie d'Alger color system. Today, you will find additions from haute couture collections which greatly enhance the selection of colors available.
If you travel to Paris, you can visit the Gobelins Tapestry Factory, a part of the French Ministry of culture where tapestries are still being produced on original wooden looms.
*NOTE: Minimum order quantity is 3 spools per color or entire assortment may be purchased.
